How much do Liverpool's council car parks cost?

These are the charges in the council's Variation of Parking Charges Notice 2026, dated 30 April 2026 and in force from 25 May 2026. The council's car parks page shows the same prices for Burgess Street and Dale Street.

At Victoria Street and the Waterfront (Kings Dock), the notice states that a lost ticket is charged at the 24-hour rate.

A note on prices: Parkopedia still describes Liverpool's street parking as £2.00 an hour from 8am to 6pm. The council's 2026 notice and its own pages replace those figures, so this guide uses the council's prices.

How much is on-street parking in Liverpool?

The council's inner zone page states that paid parking in the city centre runs from 7am to 11pm, Monday to Sunday, at these prices:

Length of stayInner zone (city centre)Outer zone

Where the council's sources disagree: the council's outer zone page still lists £1.50, £3.00 and £5.00, and its long stay page lists £8.00 for 4 hours. The legal notice that changed the charges from 25 May 2026 sets £1.80, £3.40, £5.40 and £8.50, so the table above uses the notice. The machine or the sign at the bay shows the price that applies on the day.

You can pay by phone in all of the council's on-street bays. Around Anfield and Goodison Park, the council's football match residents parking zones are for permit holders only, and parking there can bring a Penalty Charge Notice.

On the street, yes. The council's inner zone page states that Blue Badge holders can park in pay and display bays free of charge all day. In council car parks, the rules vary. The council's notice states that Blue Badge holders are not exempt at Victoria Street or the Waterfront (Kings Dock), and are exempt in the designated disabled bays on level 5 at Mount Pleasant.

For electric cars, the same notice sets a charge of £1.80 per charging session at Victoria Street's level 1 charging bays, on top of the parking charge.

What about private car parks?

Liverpool ONE lists three car parks with 3,000 spaces between them, all run by Q-Park and open 24 hours: Q-Park Liverpool ONE (L1 8LT, entered from The Strand), Q-Park John Lewis (L1 8DH, entered from Liver Street) and Q-Park Hanover Street (L1 4AF). Liverpool ONE states that all three have EV charging points. Q-Park sets its own prices, so the signs at the entrance show what you'll pay.
